What a dictator looks like
Expect great changes. Swift changes. Hugo Chavez is ready to use his new powers to implement the nation destroying ideo-religio-politico system called socialism. There is no surer way to undermine the health of a country than implementing socialism in earnest.
He wants to scrap presidential term limits and rewrite the constitution to build what he calls “socialism for the 21stcentury”. Officials say he has no intention of turning Venezuela into acommunist state, arguing that freedom of speech and religion will all be safe. ~news.bbc.co.uk
“Freedom of speech and religion will all be safe?” Until, that is, they interfere with indoctrinating the populace.
Shutting down opposition tv stations certainly doesn’t look like keeping free speech safe.
