Where’s the proof?

During wars, the laws which hold during times of peace sometimes get temporarily pushed aside. ‘It’s an emergency situation.’ In Roman times they appointed a dictator to run the war, such as when Hannibal stood at the gates of Rome. More recently, Abraham Lincoln suspended habeus corpus, FDR put Japanese Americans into camps. Today, the left has plans as well. Plans predicated on a threat that I don’t see at all.

“There is no more reason to delay,” said John Bennett, spokesman for the Climate Action Network Canada. “We need the policies, regulations, and programs to reduce emissions and we need to do it with the same kind of urgency that we would use to fight a war.”The United Nations’ top environment official is calling for an emergency climate-change summit later this year. ~globe and mail

I saw 9/11 happen. I read daily the threats from Islamic terrorists and theocratic dictators who pledge death to America and the eradication of all other religions. But somehow the left still says that 9/11 was overblown. ‘It’s all an over reaction.’

There’s a problem here.

I’m not willing to surrender logic itself to a threat that cannot be proven. Facts are pressed forward as proof but are little more than anecdotal. Questions about their ‘evidence’ is scoffed at and rebutted with spurious and circular arguments about the morality of not doing something before it’s too late. But urgency is not evidence.

Global warming no longer has anything to do with science. It is purely a political agenda.

Where is the proof? Give me the undeniable proof and I will accept it. The problem is that the proof is not there. They say it is. They speak of absolute undeniable irrefutable proof but what they put forward looks more like the tax code than a smoking gun. And all questions about why the evidence seems soft are rebutted with more predictions of death and destruction, as if becoming more shrill in your predictions makes a stronger argument.

I haven’t found the proof for global warming very convincing. It’s just not there. And when proponents of ‘human induced’ global warming cannot answer questions about their evidence I see no reason not to be even more sceptical.

Instead believers in the global warming agenda start talking about, “Climate Change Deniers,” as if questioning the truth they have established was a crime.
