Death to heretics!
Religious fervor, gross error, and political zealotry all add up to one thing: danger. For believers, global warming is one of those issues which transcends scrutiny. All opposition is to be swept away, shouted down, shunned, demonized, and suppressed. Scientists who disagree with ‘the consensus’ might as well look for another job.
Scientists who questioned mankind’s impact on climate change have received death threats and claim to have been shunned by the scientific community.
They say the debate on global warming has been “hijacked” by a powerful alliance of politicians, scientists and environmentalists who have stifled all questioning about the true environmental impact of carbon dioxide emissions. ~telegraph.co.uk
Resistance is futile. Just ask Timothy Ball. He can testify to the harmful effects of global warming.
Timothy Ball, a former climatology professor at the University of Winnipeg in Canada, has received five deaths threats by email since raising concerns about the degree to which man was affecting climate change.
One of the emails warned that, if he continued to speak out, he would not live to see further global warming.
“Western governments have pumped billions of dollars into careers and institutes and they feel threatened,” said the professor.
“I can tolerate being called a sceptic because all scientists should be sceptics, but then they started calling us deniers, with all the connotations of the Holocaust. That is an obscenity. It has got really nasty and personal.” ~telegraph.co.uk
The idea that a movement, in truth, an evangelical movement, with it’s own evangelists and prophets, can hold an absolute truth that must be shared and demand that everyone accept is familiar. We all recognize it when groups such as the Jehovah’s witnesses come to our door, (no offense to any Jehovah’s witnesses by the way). We should also recognize it when eco-evangelists tell us that our sins (carbon emmissions) are bringing forth the judgement (global warming) of the our world.
Offending the gods is not a new concept either. This is the basic argument of global warming advocates. We have offended the gods and they now demand a sacrifice.

And like most cargo-cults it has as it’s ritual ornamentation, the look of something but without that thing’s complex internal operation and function: Science.
Leftism is consensus driven and they have proven time and again that they will kill whomever disagrees until a consensus is reached - which is hardly how Science operates.
To advance The Cause they typically rob banks where the Petty Bourgeoisie store their evil money, but now to advance the pseudo-Scientific Religion they have created another funding method. Eco-Credits for the Eco-Faithful who must not be inconvenienced in their Eco-Buying Power, Carbon Offsets are purchasable through Generation Investment Management, a purveyor of fine-feelings and smug assurances. Al Gore not only uses 20 time more power than the average American household at his 20-room, eight-bathroom home in Nashville, but he buys his offsets from them too, and conveniently as they saying goes “Pay Yourself First” he is not only a consumer he is also the Chairman of Generation Investment Management.

Your post gave me an idea that I had to build-on, that real Science isn’t consensus-driven but Collectivism sure IS. I’m just so tired of the damn Communists and the nose-pickers who stand around listening to them. :-)
