Oil prices will drop?

Elect me and oil prices instantly drop, says Hillary Clinton in Iowa

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Hillary Clinton predicted Saturday that just electing her President will cut the price of oil.

When the world hears her commitment at her inauguration about ending American dependence on foreign fuel, Clinton says, oil-pumping countries will lower prices to stifle America’s incentive to develop alternative energy.

Magical thinking, the hallmark of liberalism; nay, the cornerstone of liberalism! In fact, Clinton is either delusional here or seeking the title of ignorant liar.

“I predict to you, the oil-producing countries will drop the price of oil,” Clinton said, speaking at the Manchester YWCA. “They will once again assume, once the cost pressure is off, Americans and our political process will recede.”

Does she actually believe that oil-producing countries believe that Clinton is the real threat to their energy supply dominance?

Clinton argued that former President Jimmy Carter in the late 1970s actually started moving in the right direction toward energy independence, but his successor, Ronald Reagan, “dismantled” that work.

“Because costs were low, people didn’t care, didn’t complain,” she said.

She warned that folks shouldn’t be grateful now if oil countries cut prices from near $100 a barrel to $60 or $70, and compared it to trying to boil a frog.

“You put him in hot water, it jumps right out, you put him in cold water and turn up the heat - he’s a goner,” she said. “We’ve got to figure out how were going to not be the frog in the cold water anymore.” ~nydailynews.com

What she means is that she has the inclination and intention to mandate, “dependence from foreign oil.” I guarantee she’s not suggesting that we increase domestic production. What she means is that what we need is Jimmy Carter’s austerity program –and we should go even further. The government needs to handle this energy emergency with all the powers it currently has and then some. War powers.

How would the government create energy independence without increasing domestic production? They (she) would mandate less consumption. Outlaw activities. Control lifestyles. Patrol neighborhoods for infractions. After all, we would be at war.

The Moral Equivalent of War — M.E.O.W.

On April 20, 1977, President Carter proposed a sweeping package of taxes, regulations, and federal controls as his answer to the energy crisis. Calling it the “moral equivalent of war,” he urged the Congress and the public to embrace the principles of conservation and sacrifice. From the outset, his program came under heavy criticism from both the Congress and the private sector. Perhaps the two most frequently voiced objections were that his proposal totally ignored the development of additional supplies of energy and that it was more a tax program than an energy program. ~heritage.org

Talk about using fearmongering to seize and abuse power. The Global Warming/Environmental/consumerism/green living issue is nothing but fearmongering for the express purpose of seizing powers far in excess of constitutional norm.

Convince everyone that there is an impending crisis that can only be averted by giving the right, (ahem, meaning ‘left’), politicians the power they ask for is precisely what is going on here.

Jimmy Carter, 1977:

…The energy crisis has not yet overwhelmed us, but it will if we do not act quickly.

It is a problem we will not solve in the next few years, and it is likely to get progressively worse through the rest of this century.

We must not be selfish or timid if we hope to have a decent world for our children and grandchildren.

We simply must balance our demand for energy with our rapidly shrinking resources. By acting now, we can control our future instead of letting the future control us.

Two days from now, I will present my energy proposals to the Congress. Its members will be my partners and they have already given me a great deal of valuable advice. Many of these proposals will be unpopular. Some will cause you to put up with inconveniences and to make sacrifices.

The most important thing about these proposals is that the alternative may be a national catastrophe. Further delay can affect our strength and our power as a nation. ~pbs.org

From fear-mongering to cult religion, the left has a chosen ideology that they mean to use to gain global dominance. Propaganda pure and simple.

Global warming over the next hundred years could trigger a catastrophe which rivals the worst mass extinction in the planet’s entire history, according to new evidence unearthed by scientists at Bristol University.  ~iema.net
