The gospel of Liberalism
What is liberalism? I’m glad you asked…
Liberalism is a term used to describe a political philosophy that generally denotes a fetishism with government.
The dictionary definition of liberalism is not very useful. Today the term liberal and progressive and left can often be used interchangably. Most folks who refer to themselves as liberals are not doing so in the classical sense. Most ‘classical liberals’ today call themselves libertarians. (Good overview of the term.)
In order to understand liberalism you need to understand it’s core premise:
The state above all.
This is the prime directive of the liberal religion.
Every liberal policy, position, theory, program, and social movement can be understood to further the dominance of the state over all other interests. The state is all and deserves all. It has always existed and will always exist. You shall advocate no other before it.
Liberalism resists all other influences that are not state controlled.
